Ideal Korean Woman's face

Support K - Friday, November 18, 2011

Who do you think this stunning lady is???

Its no one real.  Its a digital photo compilation of a study done awhile ago analyzing the best features of many Korean celebrities.  Users voted for the best looking celebrities and their features and this is the summary!   It does look 'CG', but still interesting.

Apparently the Koreans idolizes a 'Doll' like face, small face, bigger eyes, and a small mouth like Barbie.  She doesn't even look Korean or Asian - maybe more Caucasian.  However some of you may disagree. She may just not even look human, just a computer graphic drawing!

Ironically, unlike the Westerners who prefer plump lips like Angelina Jolie, Koreans like the smaller doll like mouth.  Yes, people want what they don't have, but the real point is that the Korean's voted for an ideal face... which is not even Korean, Asian, or even Human! ... maybe a plastic doll from Toy's R US!

It would be interesting to do this study 20 yrs ago and see the trends every 10 yrs.

Funny, she actually reminds me of a friend I had... (who was real).

8 Food TIPS to get GLOWING SKIN

Support K - Friday, September 30, 2011

What does FOOD and SKINCARE have anything to do with each other?  Actually it is VERY correlated!

Eating right can make you look and feel better (in addition to the obvious benefit of your health). The nutrients in the food we eat can enhance the quality of our skin and make it glow from the inside out.  There are some nutrients which ‘feed’ the skin and when consumed regularly will support the skin structure so it functions efficiently and look its best.

  1. Eat a RAINBOW.  The more colors the better. Brightly coloured fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants which help protect the skin from cell damage. For example: when shopping for lettuces, find the ‘greenest’ you can find.
  2. Not all FATS are bad.  Some fats help promote good skin.  The right fats help make your skin resilient and create a protective layer to prevent environmental toxins to invade  your skin. Omega 3 & 6 will promote healthy skin membrane and reduce inflammation in the body resulting gin less lines and improved texture.  Omega 3 sources are oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring. Omega 6 can be found in Flax seed oil, Sunflower oil, pumpkin seeds.  Many women in Japan survive on fish.  Perhaps it explains a lot about their skin?
  3. For the same reason above top up on VITAMIN E oil.  Found in avacados, nuts, brown rice, almonds, and dark leafy vegetables.   Many Asians (and non Asians)  trend towards eating brown rice rather than white these days.
  4. VITAMIN A –  A deficiency leads to dry skin problems.  For some of you Koreans, all those times your mom forced you to eat Seaweed Soup?  It’s got a lot of Vitamin A (among other nutrients).  Good sources: carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, spinach, low fat dairy.  However, excessive amounts can be toxic.
  5. VITAMIN C alongside A&E, work to dislodge harmful molecules known as free radicals that accelerate aging by making skin less supple.  Vitamin is required to form collagen the glue that binds the skin cells together.  These free radicals can be produced by smoking, drinking alcohol, excessive sun.  Obvious sources are fruits & vegetables (oranges, kiwis, green peppers etc).
  6. FLUID – fill up on it.  To look nice and plump skin needs moisture. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. It allows kidney to flush out toxins. Minor dehydration can notably affect skin quality, let alone other health issues.
  7. GREEN TEA– It is rich in antioxidants that protect cell membranes and anti inflammatory.  It is high in polyphenols, compounds that neutralize harmful free radicals and protect the skin from UV light which in excess is a cause of skin cancer. It also contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals.   Green Tea is obviously drunk in many parts of Asia.  It is also one of the staple ingredients in BRTC’s patented complexes. J
  8. ZINC – Include zinc rich foods that help skin’s healing process since its required to develop collagen, the glue of skin cells. Zinc is found in eggs, fish, meat, wholegrain foods.

BRTC products are made from nutrients that are also found in food. However we also include extracts from exotic botanicals (blue flowers, tree barks, nuts, brown rice etc) for specific healing functions.  Our Vitalizer line (a Brightening Set) http://www.brtcstore.com/brtc/whitening-vitalizer-set  contain a jam packed list of Vitamins, brightens your skin, and keeps skin moist.   However this does not replace actually eating a healthy diet and improving the skin from within.  Eat well for your skin’s sake and Glow from within!

Happy Eating!

Save Your Skin from Hurricane Irene - and Hot Humid Summers

Save Your Skin from Hurricane Irene – Tips for the Humid Summer and the random Winds

  1. Try to store your beauty products such as moisturizers, eye gels, Vitamin Masks and cleansers in the fridge.  Not only will they will feel cool and refreshing on hot days, it slows down the growth of bacteria.  Nothing worse than applying warm make up on a hot humid day.  Use a mini fridge in hotels during vacations.
  2. Keep skin hydrated even in hot humid climates.  Walking in and out of air conditioning your skin struggles to adapt to the sudden change in temperature.  A light moisturizer , serum or even a cool Mist is enough .  An example mist is the Jasmine Eco Mist. 100% organic with 4 different flowers that have instant soothing  and hydrating effects.   Avoid heavy creamy mositurizers during the day. Sweat and heat will increase bacteria which aggravates the skin.  During the hurricane, keep your face moist but not sticky.
  3. Avoid any kind of creamy, wipe-off cleanser as this will be too heavy.  Choose a rinse-off option.
  4. Choose sunscreen that is designed for the face. It is usually much lighter, less greasy and therefore less likely to block your pores and cause irritation. Use sunscreen to replace moisturizer if very humid/hot.  Better yet, use BB Cream if you need natural coverage, SPF, Moisturizer.
  5. Drink plenty of water.  It flushes out the toxins and replaces the moisture lost.
  6. Exfoliate with an exfoliating scrub once a week but not too often.   You can use this with the Blemish Cleanser in the Blemish Bundle set if you have problem skin.  Just apply a dime size amount and lather on the skin and rub gently in circular motion.  It helps to massage the face as well.
  7. Any products containing cucumbers, aloe vera, lavender, chamomile are soothing and cooling.  They help restore skin in the most natural way.   The Jasmine Eco Mist contains Lavendar, Jasmine, Chamomile and Rose Water. It is a facial spa in a bottle sprayed anytime of day.
  8. Apply after sun care EVERY time after long periods of sun. Any moisturizer is better than none.  Any of the flowers above is helpful for after suncare.
  9. Always wash off makeup at night thoroughly.  It is especially important in the hot summer  & hurricane/typhoon season with bacteria from sweat/heat.  Let your skin breath. Think of sleep as an 8 hr detox.

4 Unique Problems w Ethnic & Asian Skin

Support K - Sunday, July 03, 2011

1) Acne is one of the most common skin conditions that affects Asians, and this population tends to experience inflammatory acne. By its very nature, Asian skin has an increased amount of melanin (the pigment in skin), and the cells that make melanin tend to be more sensitive to any type of inflammation or injury. Because Asian skin becomes more inflamed with deeper acne pustules and papules, patients are often left with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which refers to increased pigmentation or dark spots at the sites of inflammation.  Asian acne patients often are much more concerned with the after-effects of acne and how their skin may be affected by the resulting discoloration or scarring rather than the acne itself.   Which is one factor that leads to problem #2.

Solution: Treat and prevent acne before it becomes acne.  Have a holistic 360 preventative care of your skin.  Cleanse well, Remove dirt, and Tighten Pores.  Treat the acne with less abrasive products that promote healing with natural ingredients and especially before you have to deal with scars and pigmentation issues.

2) Asians are susceptible to hyperpigmentation.   Ie age spots, blemishes, sun spots, acne scares etc.  This is caused by many factors such as

  • aggressive dermatological procedures like acne spot treatments/laser treatments and acne.
  • Also many women are susceptible to freckles. Those cute spots exacerbated by the sun, are a nuisance to some women.
  • Melasma.  AKA pregnancy brown spots/lines on the skin caused by genetic, hormones, and UV.  Common in Hispanics/Asians.

Solution:  Use gentle treatments and products.  Use exfoliants but not too frequently.  The natural oils on the face keep the skin lubricated.  Protect skin from the sun. Apply brightening/vitamin masks or serums that boosts vitamin to your skin (especially Vitamin C).

3. Due to the yellow undertones in our skin, Asians tend to have higher melanin content (natural pigments in our skin that gives our skin its color) compared to the average Caucasian.  The Asian skin tans more easily (rather than burn) and have a stronger natural defence against harmful UV rays.  However, they still need to religiously apply SPF and make smart skincare choices to properly protect the skin.  Although this sounds like an advantage,  getting dark very easily is a negative for many who see the glass half empty.

Solution: Apply SPF30 every time you leave you house 15 min prior.

4. The Asian skin is very reactive to sudden changes climate (temperature/winds).  Skin protection is therefore a necessity.

Solution:  Investing in a moisturizer or even a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream will help fight against these environmental changes that lead to dry skin, premature aging, freckles/blotches, blemishes and act as a natural barrier.  A minimum of SPF 30 is recommended 15 min applied liberally before going out in the sun.    Asians who live in Asia have to adapt to excessive heat and humidity. Avoid heavy creams during the summer and always apply sun protection.  For those American/Canadian Asians, the harsh winters and nasty winds make your skin dry out and can wrinkle extremely easily. Make sure to apply moisturizer and sometimes even collagen based creams can add resilience.  Some is better than none.

What Korean Women do to get that flawless skin...

Support K - Monday, March 14, 2011
Secrets of Korean Beauty - These are observations based on my trip to Korea and interview with
beauty industry experts and surveys with the average Korean woman with great skin.

1.      Use upward and outward strokes when washing face instead of vertical and downward strokes which promotes sagging and loosen the facial muscles.  Defy gravity by keeping your skin 'strong' and lifted.

2.      Use lots of whitening products.  Many Korean women use tons of whitening and brightening products to reduce pigmentation and keep their face looking ‘porcelain’.   Unfortunately, it has been looked down upon to look dark especially in the face in most Asian countries.

3.      Always use SPF, all year round.  Ever notice when you’re golfing and all the Korean ladies wear the WIDE brimmed visors?  They are meticulous about avoiding the sun.  The sun not only damages the skin, increasing the chance of skin cancer, but also contributes to uneven skin pigmentation, potential rashes due to allergy or heat rashes (small bumps), blemishes and especially premature aging.  The Korean women wear SPF on their face, ears, neck (fully covered) when going out.  <<Keep in mind that one needs vitamin D from the sun, so you’ll need to balance your vitamin intake with blemish management!>>.   If you’re looking for a sunblock, try to use one that’s already built into your coverup. Most BB Creams (Blemish Balms) has adequate SPF coverage.  Apply 15 min before going in the sun and apply every few hours if in the sun for a long time.

4.      A typical  woman has 16-18 beauty products!  Korean women dedicate at least half an hour in the morning and also at night to care for their skin.  There is a strong correlation between those who spend time and care for their skin and those with skin that is youthful and vibrant.

5.      They cleanse their skin VERY well to prevent buildup, blemishes and pre-empt acne.  They also moisturize very well and use lots of different essences, serums, gels and use masks very frequently.  Masks typically nourish the skin with variety of vitamins and antioxidants.

And even when they step out to the grocery store wearing track pants and a hat, their face is still perfect!

Hi everyone, hope your off to a busy 2011. We have been working day and night to delivery more fantastic and promising products to add to BRTC’s portfolio line of botanical skincare.  Stay tuned..

In this article, we wanted to clarify the many questions you had about BRTC bb creams. Many are  still not aware of the wonderful benefits of the BRTC BB Creams and its botanical functions. Some of you have tried them, some are still confused as to what it does. Here are some top questions and answers asked by customers such as yourselves. Reading this will help you understand the properties of bb creams and help you understand the key benefits of each kind.

What is bb cream?

BB creams are a multi functional skincare cream and base that consist of many functions such as whitening, wrinkle repair, SPF, moisturizer, oil control. Founded by a german dermatologist and revolutionized by Korean doctors and celebrities, BRTC bb creams are one of the founding  and top rated skincare and bb cream companies in the market.

I have seen many types of bb creams- why is BRTC so different?

BRTC bb creams use botanical ingredients made exclusively from fruit, plant and nut extracts. All our bb creams are scientifically tested from heavy metals, and tested with various skincare patent formulation and years of efficacy for maximum results. We have millions of satisfied customers in over a  dozen countries across the globe. Our quality by far outweighs all bb cream brands and are priced very fair.

Are bb creams for asian skin only?

No. In the last few years, the Koreans were the first to mass use the bb creams. Today, not only has the bb cream market exploded in Asia, it has also reached out to thousands of non asian users across Europe, Australia, USA and Canada.

How do I apply bb creams?

BB creams are day creams and should be applied after cleansing, toning and moisturizing the skin. Apply a dab amount on your cheeks and lather until it seems into skin. Repeat as needed until you reach full coverage or desired results. Wash off at night before bed.

Can Men use bb creams?

Yes many of our customers are male and use the BRTC brand of bb creams for natural coverage
and skincare benefits. We also have Mens All in 1 skincare set which includes the mens BB Cream.

What kinds of BB Creams does BRTC have?

BRTC has 5 main types of bb creams. Although they are similar in their basic functions. The flavours and benefits are all different.

1)       Jasmine Water BB Cream- SPF 30. This bb cream is the best overall bb cream if you have combination skin or are looking for a general bb cream and good moisture control. The smell of the jasmine water extracts leave your skin smelling beautiful.

2)       Gold caviar BB Cream- SPF50. The highest SPF control, great for skin that burns easily and if you are going to be outdoors for long periods of time.  This bb cream is an excellent anti –oxidant and good for anti aging.

3)       Blemish Recover Balm- SPF 28. Has a slight cooling and tingling effect and great for oil control and acne cover and healing.

4)       Glamorous Sparkling BB Cream- SPF 36. Have a date, going out on a special event? This bb cream is your basic bb cream but with sparkling pearls that leave your face shimmering and glowing with radiance.

5)       Mens BB Cream- SPF 37.This bb cream is much lighter and softer then the 4 mentioned above so it doesn’t appear as makeup on men’s skin. Great for cover, oil control, and overall skincare radiance.

There are a lot of BRTC bb creams out on the market. How do I know what I am really getting.

Please make sure you are not purchasing BRTC products outside of an authorized dealer in retail stores or online. Based on research by BRTC, there are many counterfeit BRTC and general bb cream products. www.brtcstore.com  is your official BRTC store with fresh batches of products manufactured with proper time period of expiry date.

Can I mix BRTC bb creams with any other products from BRTC?

Yes. For anti aging the Medistem Collagen Set works very well with bb creams as well as the Overnight Pore tightener. For general skincare maintenance and acne control, the Blemish Bundle Set is optimal.

What are the main ingredients in BRTC bb creams?

BRTC bb creams have a blend of botanical ingredients ranging from plant extracts as well as fruit extracts. We use variations of green tea, aloe, flower extracts in our products. For whitening we use arbutin and for wrinkle repair we use adenosine.

My skin is sensitive. Can I use BRTC bb creams?

All our bb creams are tested and made for sensitive skin. If you have hyper sensitive skin- we advise for yout to check with your doctor.

Can I mix the bb creams?

Many of our customer like to mix the jasmine water bb cream and gold caviar bb cream. This blend gives both of best worlds of anti aging (gold caviar) and moisture/skin protection (jasmine water extract). You can also mix any combinations of bb creams to your liking.

Will BRTC bb creams whiten my face permanently?

BRTC bb creams are generally a lighter shade and great for light to medium skintone. The
bb creams (applied correctly) will give ones face a slightly lighter and pinkish undertone. The bb creams
will not bleach or make your face permanently white. It will however lighten dark and unwanted spots
such as age spots, scars or blemishes instantly as well as over time.

Secrets from Asia 3. Winter skincare tips.

Support K - Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Yes it is already winter and the holidays are right around the corner. Work, kids, family, gifts, friends, events, with so much going on many of us are so busy that we neglect the basic proper skincare essentials and tend to have bad skin around the winter holiday season.

In this week's episode of Skincare Tips from Asia #3, find out how these simple skincare tips can make your skin at its healthiest for this holiday season...

Tip #1 Apply a moisturizer.

Cold, wind, and dry air all take moisture from the epidermis, the top layer of the skin, leaving it dry and makes generally the biggest skin issue people have during the winter. Making the skin dry, flaky and course.   Since our dermis is our skin’s shield from external factors it is important to keep it well hydrated and protected from the harmful environmental elements.  Even people with very oily skin might find that they need a moisturizer during the winter.  There are a few ways to get that extra moisture that your skin needs.
The Medistem Collagen Face and Eye Creams are also excellent moisturizers with added collagen peptides that help lighten and rejuvinate the skins appearance while keeping it hydrated all winter long. Made from plant stem cell complex, this cream has a patented plant stem cell technology that is excellent for maintaining youthful skin.

Tip #2. Limit your shower time.

Make sure that you don’t spend too much time in the shower or rinse your face with water that is too hot.  If you do you are further compromising the skin’s dermis and once again leaving it vulnerable to moisture loss.  Remember to moisturize after shower.

Tip #3. Wear gloves when cleaning the house

Wear gloves when you wash dishes or clean the house in order to protect your hands.  After washing hands remember to put moisturizer on them to combat dryness and cracking.  Vitamin E oil or moisturiers rich in Vitamin E are good to use in the morning and night.

Tip #4 Apply sunscreen.

Don’t forget your sunscreen!  People seem to think once it is no longer summer there is no need to use sunscreen.  Nothing could be further from the truth!  Even on gray winter days, about 80% of both UVA and UVB rays penetrate clouds. And 100% of UVA rays penetrate glass.”  No matter how many layers we wear, one part of the body — our head and neck area — tends to remain exposed to the sun’s damaging ultraviolet (UV) radiation year-round. Not coincidentally, the face, head and neck are where the majority of skin cancers occur.”  A sun protection of at least SPF 30 is generally recommended when going outside. All of BRTC bb creams contain an SPF level of 30 to 50 with PA ++.

Tip #5. Take your daily multi vitamin.

With added stress, it is easy to be depleted from the essential vitamins our body needs.

Many people boost their immune system with a regular, high-quality multivitamin. Take a multivitamin with at least vitamins C, A and E – in any supplements you buy to prevent catching colds and the flu.  But just like our immune system our skins need essential vitamins to stay healthy and youthful. The NEW Vitalizer C10 Whitening Ampoule is a great blend of pure 12% vitamins C, B3,A, B5,E and F for the face. It will help your skins overall complexion by lightening, smoothing and hydrating it and help for the winter season.

Yes these tips are so simple, but if maintained regularly it will help protect your skin from the harmful elements of the winter season.

Secrets from Asia 2. Skincare tips

Support K - Thursday, September 23, 2010

In this article of Skincare Tips #2, I will reveal to you a secret food that my mom has used for years to help her appear 15 years younger.  I will also discuss the importance of Collagen for skincare and general Acne tips that are proven to work.

My mother to this date has one of the most radiant and youthful looking skin for her age. Often many people mistaken her age by 15 years. Not bad for someone in their 60s!! She is complimented regularly by friends, family and even strangers for her  bright, firm and youthful looking glow. Never has she used chemicals or surgery to keep her skin looking youthful.

So what is her secret? It’s a combination of a Korean diet rich in vitamins and minerals, along with good rest, plenty of water, exercise and ….cucumbers!

Cucumber is a natural cleanser that helps skin irritations and swelling reduction. No wonder why millions of men and women use cucumbers as a tonic face remedy of all kinds.

Cucumber’s flesh is mostly water, but it also contains Vitamin C and caffeic acid – these nutrients help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling. Which is the primary reason cucumber has been a “skin care” product since the beginning of time.

Cucumber is a great source of silica, which is an essential component of healthy connective tissue. Cucumber juice (as a source of silica) is great for improving complexion and health of skin, plus it is naturally hydrating. It is a great  natural cleanser. So next time you want to wash your face, mix half a cup of milk with one table spoon of cucumber juice and use it as a cleanser. This mixture can store for up to one day in a fridge. This will clean, tone, and refresh your skin all at once.

• Applying cucumber juice to your face can lighten the skin and minimize freckles If your face gets sweaty, wipe it with a cucumber slice periodically throughout the day.

• Slices of cucumber are indispensable for dark circles and especially under-eye bags (puffiness). Lie down, put couple of slices on your eyes, making sure they touch the puffy areas, and give it 10 – 15 minutes or even overnight. This is a very old trick, that still works to this day.

• Another great strategy is to place sliced cumumbers directly on the face for 30 min or even overnight. The cucumbers will help enlighten the face and help rejuvinate a fresh, firmer look.

Do this once a week along with a proper skincare regimen for a cheap and effective therapuetic facial.

Collagen

Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins found in mammals. Approximately one quarter of all of the protein in your body is collagen. Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue. It has great tensile strength, and is the main component of ligaments and tendons. It is responsible for skin elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany aging.

High-molecular collagen is an important moisture retainer and is suitable for all skin types. It has been proven that collagen increases hydration, improves skin feeling and decreases the extent and depth of wrinkles. The inner layer of the skin contains large amounts of collagen which breaks down at a rate of 1.5% every year after the age of 25. The skin's surface becomes dull and lifeless and the elasticity reduces over time causing certain parts to sag and wrinkle. Collagen has been proven to be beneficial for the improvement of the elasticity of the skin aiding repair and regeneration of ligaments, tendons, joints and bones and improving the connective tissue of the skin. The way your skin looks is directly related to the way your skin is supported. Wrinkles form when the natural collagen and hyaluronic acid in your skin diminish during the natural aging process.

BRTC’s new revolutionary Medistem Face and Eye Creams are made from pure Collagen peptides. The combination of collagen peptides, plant cell complex and adenosine helps instantly reduce and soothe fine lines and wrinkles on the skin while firming and lightening the overall face. I use this set both day and night to prevent fine lines and also to diminish the appearance of lines around my eyes and mouth. My mother to this date still uses the Medistem Eye cream.

 Acne Tips

Acne affects as many as 17 million people in the United States alone, making it the most common skin disease. Today there are over 100 million acne sufferers across the globe. Many Koreans are obsessed with clean and radiant skin and will do anything to the dreaded pimple. I don’t need to go into details of how or why acne is formed but we all know that Acne affects many of us with our image, confidence and overall quality of life.

How can you fight acne?

Here are some straight to the point- acne tips that will help your acne be gone immediately. These are all tips that I regularly follow and live by that has helped me to keep my pure, radiant skin tone.

        1. Water intake

About 70% of your body is made of water. And your skin is not an exception to this. It needs a lot of water which is beneficial for making cells healthier .

This is particularly more relevant to the external area of your skin, which is exposed to dust and harmful substances.

The dust and other pollutants dehydrate the skin cells. When cells are dehydrated, they have reduced capability of functioning, rebuilding and
healing, or removing waste efficiently.

Thus you need to consume a lot of water to replenish your skin. The consumption of water greatly enhances the cells' ability to function properly and reduce acne blemishes. But how much water is enough for your skin? For a healthy person, 1 gallon or 3.8 liters of water intake everyday is sufficient to establish healthy skin

        2. Benoxyl peroxide

Avoid it! Benoxyl peroxide is known to cause many skin complications and although there are numerous articles raving about this chemical, there are equally as many that go against it. In short, Benoxyl peroxide dries the skin, sometimes producing more oil build up which leads to more breakouts.

        3. Proper skincare regimen

Ensure you are following a proper and consistent skincare regimen. It is important to use products that has natural ingredients and not filled with chemicals. You should follow a proper cleansing regimen two or three times a day depending on the severity of your breakout and timing. It is important to select products that have tea tree oil as well as salycic acid which are natural acne fighting ingredients that work wonders on the skin.
The
Blemish Bundle Set is a guaranteed skincare regimen  for fighting acne and is made from botanical ingredients including tea tree oil, playcodon grandiflorum and willow bark. It is very soft and gentle on the skin and will not cause irritations.

I have been using this set for the last 2 years with amazing results. This should can be used even if you don’t have acne as it will help with maintaining soft velvet like skin. It's no wonder thousands of people swear and live by it.

4. Zinc

Eat foods rich in zinc - Zinc is an antibacterial agent and a necessary element in the oil-producing glands of the skin. A diet low in zinc can actually cause acne breakouts. Some foods include sesame flour, wheat germ, pumpkin seeds and oysters.

5. Stress

Stress has a strong relationship to acne and a profound impact. When under stress the body produces hormonal steroids, such as cortisol (a corticosteroid hormone frequently called hydrocortisone). Like other hormonal steroids (testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, etc.) these chemicals target the skin in a disruptive manner and acne flare-ups may coincide with increased stress.

While it is easy to suggest the avoidance of stress, this is not likely to be accomplished. Begin recognizing stress levels and potentially stressful events or situations. A bath with candles, going to the gym, a power nap, meditation, yoga, listening to music are all proven stress reducing activities that will clear you away from cortisol.

If you follow these steps you should see some amazing skincare results. Perfect Radiant Skin is no longer a secret!

Why is Your Skin So Radiant? Secrets from Asia

Support K - Saturday, August 21, 2010
Asian beauty secrets are really no secret. Their beauty is intricately connected to the healthy lifestyles they lead. Their beauty is not just skin-deep. It goes deep down into the cells and the tissues. For a long time, Asian women have used
natural products to enhance their beauty. Here are some observations and tips to maintaining healthy skin.

1 . Hydration & Diet

A nutritious diet, along with 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, is recommended. It’s also recommended to include plenty of fruits and vegetables that are high in anti-oxidants. Also, carrots, sweet potatoes, and broccoli contain a lot of vitamin A which is essential for healthy skin. Drinking orange juice or eating strawberries can supply you with a lot of vitamin C, which helps build collagen. A lack of vitamin C can cause loss of skin strength and elasticity, bruising, and poor healing of cuts and other damage.

Also, many people in Asia in general do not consume as much junk food as the Western counterparts. Their food is always fresh, nothing out of a can or shrink wrap, and nothing processed. (Not always, but not nearly as much as in the Western diet).

2. Green tea

Many women in Asia drink Green Tea during the day or after meals. The antioxidant content alone is enough to make it a desirable ingredient for skincare. There are other reasons to look for Green Tea ingredients in skincare. Some consumers
simply want to avoid harmful chemicals and use natural plants to help improve their skin.

3 . Sauna / Massage

After a trip to Seoul, I realized how much of the daily culture revolves around going to the local Bathhouses aka “Jimjilbangs” similar to olden Roman days. Many women pay a daily visit through membership or spending $5-10 a visit and lounge around in multiple baths and steam rooms in the nude as if it looks like a cult in a medieval torture chamber.

The different whirlpools will have varying levels of temperature. The different dry sauna has different themes such as charcoal, amethyst, dry herbs, and other therapeutic plants/smells for improving the overall health. The steam sauna is very popular and is very good for the skin. The heat circulates the blood resulting in rosy cheeks and the heated steam smoothens out your imperfections such as scars/ blemishes.

Some baths will have services to scrub your entire body down and offer a quick mini massage. Great during the summer when you’ve walked in the heat and accumulated dirt :). I must say, never before have I seen so much dead skin come off the body. The ajumas laugh with delight as the grey matter rolls off your skin. Massages are a great way to circulate blood flow and release tension in the muscles. A mini facial massage will create a radiant glow on your face.

For some Korean women, this is a way of life, a social community where there is a sense of belonging for those who stay at home. Every visit, you feel like a dull coin going in and squeaky clean coming out.

Stay tuned for more... Skin Care Tips

Blemish Bundle - What is it?

Support K - Wednesday, May 26, 2010
Hi all,

I haven't written in awhile! Here are some interesting information:

Blemish Bundle product was composed so that it can solve problems of everday people with bad skin.  Bad skin can include many forms of acne, dermatitis, scars, blemishes, spots, dark circles, etc.

Bad skin results from many factors:  environment, hormones, dirt/oil, genetics, teenage, stress.  The Blemish Bundle will help you get in a regime so that you can clear your skin and prevent build up of dirt and oil.  The products that compose the BRTC Blemish Bundle include high premium grade botanicals that are known for therapeutic purposes in the Eastern medicine to heal wounds, acne, scars, dull skin.   BRTC has mixed the best of  all the ingredients to make the best solution for the most hyper sensitive skin.

The Blemish Cleanser smells like your at a spa.  It lathers like an ordinary cleanser but you must wash it off.  The feeling you get when you wash it off is that it leaves a velvety feeling.  It leaves the skin with some moisture without drying/flaking.  It also has the special ingredients to clean deeply at the roots of your pores and cool down inflammed skin.

The Blemish Toner is fantastic. I use it when I get mosquito bites or eczema or sun burn on my neck.  It has Portulaca Oleracea, a plant known to heal many skin problems.  It is great to tone the pores/skin while cooling the immflamed skin.  It leaves irritated skin back to an equilibrium point.

Blemish Serum is great for night time. It supplies moisture and has antibacterial properties to zap away the cooties on your skin.  Once a night is fine.  When skin is better, every other day is fine as well.

Blemish Recover Balm - is our signature BB Cream especially for oil control and troubled skin.  If the colour looks dark, remember to keep rubbing it in lightly in the skin, it will then mix.
